ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS)
Is the globally recognized standard for environmental management and describes the features that need to be in place in any organization that wishes to demonstrate that it is “environmentally responsible”.
ISO 14001:2015 is an internationally recognized standard that sets out the requirements for an effective environmental management system. It provides organizations with a systematic approach to identifying, managing, monitoring, and reducing their environmental footprint.
By implementing ISO 14001:2015, organizations can demonstrate their commitment to environmental stewardship, comply with applicable environmental regulations, and enhance their reputation as environmentally responsible entities.

Key features of our ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System include:

Environmental Policy: We have developed a comprehensive environmental policy that outlines our commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. This policy serves as a guiding principle for all our environmental initiatives and actions.

Environmental Aspect Identification: We conduct thorough assessments to identify and evaluate the environmental aspects and impacts associated with our operations, products, and services. This enables us to prioritize areas for improvement and minimize our environmental footprint.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance: We ensure compliance with relevant environmental laws, regulations, and other requirements applicable to our operations. Our ISO 14001:2015 EMS helps us stay informed about changing environmental legislation and proactively address compliance issues.

Objectives and Targets: We establish measurable environmental objectives and targets to drive continual improvement in our environmental performance. These objectives are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure alignment with our environmental policy and organizational goals.

Environmental Management Programs: We develop and implement environmental management programs to address specific environmental challenges and opportunities within our organization. These programs include initiatives such as waste reduction, energy conservation, pollution prevention, and resource efficiency.

Monitoring and Measurement: We monitor and measure key environmental performance indicators to track our progress towards achieving our environmental objectives and targets. This enables us to identify trends, assess the effectiveness of our environmental management system, and take corrective actions as needed.

Internal Audits and Management Review: We conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of our ISO 14001:2015 EMS and ensure compliance with established procedures and requirements. Additionally, we conduct management reviews to evaluate our environmental management system's overall performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Implementing ISO 14001:2015 demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement. Our Environmental Management System helps us minimize our environmental impact, reduce costs, enhance our reputation, and create value for our stakeholders.
As with all ISO standards, any organization can achieve ISO 14001 certification regardless of their sector or size.
ISO 14001:2015 Certification Audits for Environmental Management Systems
To receive and maintain ISO 14001 certification, a company must undergo a series of audits. The audit process begins with an initial certification audit. It consists of a Stage 1 audit that is a review to ensure you have everything you need for your Stage 2 audit. The Stage 2 audit is when the credentialed third-party Lead Auditor audits you against the requirements of ISO 14001.
ISO 14001:2015 Certification Overview – Environmental Management Systems
The requirements of ISO 14001 can help businesses better manage their environmental goals by implementing key activities that will help them both identify and reduce their most significant environmental impacts. This can relate to issues such as air pollution, water and sewage issues, waste management, soil contamination, climate change mitigation and more.

The certification process can be complex without the right guidance. At ISOP, we simplify the steps companies need to take to become certified. There are four general steps every company should take to become ISO 14001 certified.
ISO 14001:2015 Controls for Environmental Management Systems
The standard is comprised of 10 clausal areas that specify the structure and requirements for implementing and maintaining an energy management system. Clausal areas one through three specify the requirement for the scope of the system, establish normative vocabulary, and define important terms used in the standard. Clausal areas 4-10 outline the specific actions as they relate to an environmental management system.
